COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL ART THERAPY
The purpose of the Cognitive Behavioral Art Therapy group is to develop social skills, coping skills, and problem-solving skills in order to provide effective strategies for dealing with current challenges and maladaptive thought or behavior patterns. In this group two and three-dimensional art making will be utilized in combination with reflective discussion to support visual and interpersonal problem solving, which will provide opportunities for sublimation and emotional regulation inherent to the artmaking process.
OPEN HEartED STUDIO
This open studio format group promotes your individualized healing process through providing you with the space to set an intention and reflect upon it in your expressive art making process to support your self-esteem and self-efficacy in personal expression. Further goals are to improve interpersonal connectivity through discussing thoughts and feelings about artwork and listening to others, as well as to be able to utilize various art modalities as a constructive way of reducing stress and anxiety. Participants are encouraged to explore different art materials, create freely, and learn new techniques supporting their individual artistic talents, mental wellness, relaxation, and learning skills to cope with life stressors.
The purpose of this group is to utilize visual journaling as a healthy and creative outlet to cope with internal and external chaos, stress, anxiety and depression. It introduces concepts of using art and writing as a process to foster self-discovery, promote change and personal growth, and restore positive emotions such as self-esteem through reflective visual, written, and verbal conversations with oneself and other group members.
MANAGING STRESS THROUGH ART
In this group, we will practice managing stress through psychotherapeutic art interventions that use fluidity of media and visual problem solving to provide opportunities for sublimation and emotional regulation inherent to the artmaking process. The goal of this group is to learn and develop coping skills: core mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
MINDFULNESS THROUGH ART AND NATURE
In this group we will explore the positive impact that mindfulness, nature, and differential art materials have on emotional and mental well-being. The purpose of this group is to utilize psychotherapeutic art interventions to promote well-being, coping skills, grounding, awareness, and focus. Through exploring themes present in nature and mindfulness skills participants will strengthen their relationship with themselves and the world around them.
THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
This group explores and supports the development of scientifically proven methods to increasing the quality of your life. The purpose of this group is to impart happiness life hacks that have been rigorously researched and empirically proven, then to individualize them and apply it to your own life. Through learning about positive psychology and strength-based lifestyle approaches this groups supports you in empowering yourself to realize your potential for holistic wellbeing and happiness. This group will help you transition from a survival mindset to a thriving mindset.
